Plot Summary:
"Our Beloved Summer" is a heartfelt romantic comedy-drama that follows the complicated relationship between two former high school sweethearts, Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-soo, who are brought back together years after their breakup.
Choi Ung is a free-spirited and somewhat aimless illustrator who enjoys living a laid-back life. Kook Yeon-soo is a driven and ambitious PR expert who prides herself on her professionalism and independence. Their personalities are polar opposites, which initially makes their relationship both thrilling and challenging.
High School Days:
During high school, Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-soo participated in a documentary project that chronicled their lives as top student (Yeon-soo) and bottom student (Ung). Despite their differences, they fell deeply in love. However, after high school, the pressures of life and their diverging paths led to a painful breakup.
Reunion:
Years later, the documentary gains unexpected popularity, and their past relationship becomes a hot topic once again. The documentary producer proposes a follow-up project to show how their lives have changed. Reluctantly, Ung and Yeon-soo agree to participate, leading to an awkward and emotional reunion.
Rediscovering Each Other:
As they work together on the new documentary, old wounds are reopened, and buried feelings resurface. Through a series of humorous and poignant events, they begin to understand how much they have changed and how much they still mean to each other.
